Here we go! Headed to San Francisco, for a ten day trip of central California.
After a brief stop in Denver where we barely made our connection, we were back in the air heading for San Diego when I looked down and immediately recognized the Grand Canyon. The Colorado River looks a lot different from 35,000 feet than it does on the river in a rubber raft boat.

We landed in San Diego but didn't have to get off the plane. Soon we were off. Through a hole in the clouds, I recognized Catalina Island which we visited on a cruise back in 2004(?).

We landed in San Jose, got our rental car, and drove up to San Francisco. We arrived at son Joe's new (old) house in San Francisco.
